The Power of Forgiveness
By
Richard Smith of the Carmichael Stake
Brother Smith lived with a
dysfunctional family and in the foster system until he was fourteen years
old. He was baptized when he was eight
but remained inactive in the church until he was fifteen, when one of the young
men in his ward invited him to attend church.
Attending church changed him and he graduated from high school in
Hawaii, served a mission in Indiana, Indianapolis, and graduated from Brigham
Young University, Hawaii with a BA in Industrial Education.
He has worked at a
continuation high school for more than twenty years. He and his wife have two daughters, a son, a grandchild and
another on the way. He has served in
various positions in the church and is presently an awesome ward mission leader
and serves faithfully each week as an Ordinance Worker at the Sacramento
Temple.
Refreshments will be served following the Lesson
